Phase One of our Bluff Abatement Project has been installed!
Thanks to the gifts and prayers of many people, we were able to raise gifts and pledges that totalled more than the $400,000 we had originally hoped to raise. Construction began in September and finished up just prior to our staff training week. We were able to secure 385 feet of our shoreline; starting at the creek (which is west of our dining hall) and moving westward! As part of this phase we also included a 10' wide, 260' long gravel travel that leads to a set of concrete stairs that will eventually give campers access to Lake Erie. Even though Phase One is completed, gifts can still be made to the Our Bluff Rocks fund in preparation for the start of Phase Two! Be sure to join the LOMO Newsletter to stay updated about some of the exciting things we are planning for Phase Two.

How can I contribute?
For the more than 65 years that Camp Luther has been in existence, there has been an ongoing question of: "When are we going to fix the bluff? And for 65 years, we have always said: "At this time it doesn't seem to be feasible." That dialogue has officially been addressed; and we are proud to announce that through the work of several dedicated campers, the Camp Luther and LOMO staffs, and the LOMO Board, we have come to the conclusion that it is feasible to save our bluff! Fundraising efforts began in the summer of 2008 and we currently have pledges and gifts totaling more than $450,000! We need to collect another 1.2 million to complete the project in the future. We need gifts of all sizes in order to reach our goal!
